About us

Greenpharma S.A.S. is a supplier of R&D solutions in terms of products and services. Our core expertise is based on the knowledge of natural substances and on a multidisciplinary technical platform to leverage this knowledge in active molecule or ingredient discovery for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and agro-food industries.

Nature is a large reservoir of inspirations. This is reflected in the biodiversity, a source of chemical diversity. Our libraries derived from natural wealth want to capture these sources of innovations. This ambition is supported by a worldwide network for sourcing raw materials and for biological assays. We give access to our cutting-edge platform through our services in extraction, purification, chemical analysis, organic chemistry and chemoinformatics.

Based on our long experience in natural products, many companies trust our added-value for their R&D. Our partners range from biotechs, big pharmas, active ingredient suppliers, major cosmetic and chemical companies, the food industry to international level academic groups…

Please see Products & Services pages for more details or contact us to discuss of your specific research projects.

For our French partners, we are certified “Crédit Impôt Recherche” from the French Ministry of Research – interesting for tax aspects.

The team:

Philippe BERNARD, PhD

CEO, Founder of Greenpharma S.A.S.

Philippe obtained his phD in Biochemistry in 1998 at the University of Orleans (France). Then, he spent two years in a biotechnological company, Greentech, in Clermont-Ferrand (France), which supplies plant extracts for cosmetic, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical companies. He left Greentech to work on a contract for Aventis and under the auspice of Professor Marcel HIBERT from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg (France), where he could complete its knowledge in pharmacology. His unique experiences in the field of biochemistry, computational chemistry and plant pharmacology leaded to the creation of Greenpharma in December 2000. The reverse pharmacognosy strategy, one component of Greenpharma, results from his expertise in different complementary fields.

Quoc-Tuan DO, PhD

Chemoinformatic Manager

Quoc-Tuan obtained his Master in Chemistry and his diploma of “ingénieur chimiste” at l’Ecole National Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse (France) in 1996. Then, he got his PhD in chemoinformatics at the Institut de Chimie Organique et Analytique (France). He started his career in the biophysics department of HMR at Strasbourg, in protein structure elucidation by NMR, where he familiarised with NMR & molecular modelling methodologies. In 1997, he joined Tripos as a support scientist to complete his expertise in molecular modelling and acquired unique expertise in cutting edge molecular modelling tools and a large overview of pharmaceutical research problems and needs. By 2001, he joined Greenpharma to develop internal knowledge database system and Selnergy, a Greenpharma proprietary tool. QT is also the contact person for international collaborations.

Franck HIMBERT, PhD

Analytical Chemistry and Phytochemistry Manager

Franck obtained his PhD in the Institut de Chimie Organique et Analytique (France). He established new methods of purification by chromatographic techniques and developed a new approach of liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Then he worked in the R&D department of NOVASEP in Nancy (France), to develop purification methods for pharmaceutical industry. In 2004, he joined Greenpharma to set up the analytical chemistry and phytochemistry platform.

Christelle PILLARD, PhD

Organic Chemistry Manager

Christelle obtained her PhD in organic chemistry the Institut de Chimie Organique et Analytique (France). She did her post-doc research at the University of Grenoble in synthesis, then joined Greenpharma in 2009 to develop hemisynthesis and bioisosteres of natural compound scaffolds e.g. pyrazolotriazine…

Scientific board:

Pr. Gérald GUILLAUMET is the Director of the Institute of Organic and Analytical Chemistry which gathers more than 100 scientists. He also acts as the President of the University of Orleans (France). He is a specialist in medicinal chemistry and particularly in original heterocyclic chemistry. He published more than 200 scientific articles and patents. He participated to the reference book : “Comprehensive Heterocyclic Chemistry”. His domains of research include the CNS, the cardiovascular system, nociception, obesity and cancer.

Pr Jacques HAIECH is a professor at the School of Biotechnological Engineer of Strasbourg (FRANCE) and director of the National Network of Genopole. He is also an expert in biotechnology and bioinformatics and acts as an expert counsellor of the French Ministry of Research in life science domain. He obtained his Master in mathematics in 1974 and his PhD in biochemistry in 1978. In 1987 and 1993, he was a visiting associate professor of the Pharmacology Department of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, and a visiting professor at Northwestern University in the Molecular Pharmacology Department, Chicago (USA). He is the author of more than 100 scientific publications and awarded “Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite”, a French high distinction for outstanding services to the country.
