Our Company

Greenpharma is a French company created in 2000 acting in life science. We are a supplier of R&D solutions and propose tailored products and services. Our core activity is focused on natural substances supported by a multidisciplinary technical platform allowing to accelerate the discovery of active compounds and ingredients for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and agro-food industries. Our internal platform consists of 5 complementary components:

  • analytical chemistry with LC/MS, analytical & preparative HPLC, GAINS
  • extraction at lab scale (ASE equipment) and at pilot scale (liquid extraction tank, supercritical CO2, subcritical water)
  • chemoinformatics: ethnopharmacological database (GPDB), virtual screening tool Selnergy, QSAR…
  • organic synthesis and biosynthesis
  • formulation for cosmetics: gel, cream, lotions…

For our French partners, we are certified “Crédit Impôt Recherche” from the French Ministry of Research – interesting for tax aspects.

Nature as
source of inspiration

We have a multidisciplinary team in biochemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, phytochemistry, chemoinformatics, pilot development process and formulation.

We propose R&D services under contract. These studies may be a one-time need on a specific part of our platform; we can also manage customers’ global R&D projects from a concept/need, the R&D phases to the supply of the active ingredient.

We also supply turn-key cosmetic ingredients to cosmetic brands from our internal R&D projects. Most of these products are patented.

Last, we provide products including synthetic or natural molecules for R&D. These products are available in pre-formated extract or compound libraries or via a catalogue on www.ambinter.com.

Our customers and partner are therefore in various domains including cosmetic, pharmaceutical, agrochemistry, nutraceutical and animal health industries and academic or research institutions.

Our originality

The originality of our platform is the integration of informatic and lab tools.

The core is our proprietary ethnopharmacological database GPDB (includes molecule structures, organisms, folk uses, biological data and targets). It accelerates the discovery of active molecules by an exhaustive biological (SELNERGYTM) and phytochemical (GAINSTM) profiling in silico.

Then our analytical and pilot equipment allows to scale-up. For cosmetic projects, formulation can intervene at an early stage to avoid any stability problems…

In case of pharmaceutical projects, the identified active molecules may be optimised by our medicinal chemists to improve their activity and to discard any toxicity effects.

Alexandra Coic

Formulation Manager

Alexandra obtained a Master in Chemistry in Orleans in 1994 and made a specialization in Formulation chemistry in the University of Lille.
She started her career in CS Dermatologie as Development and Quality Assurance Manager. She has a strong experience in Formulation and Project Management as Head of In-House Formulation and Development in Sinclair Pharma company. She joined Greenpharma in 2014 and create a formulation laboratory to support active ingredient development and propose as well formulation services to our customers.

Franck HIMBERT

Laboratory Manager, Associate

Franck obtained his PhD in the Institut de Chimie Organique et Analytique (France). He established new methods of purification by chromatographic techniques and developed a new approach of liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Then he worked in the R&D department of NOVASEP in Nancy (France), to develop purification methods for pharmaceutical industry. In 2004, he joined Greenpharma to set up the analytical chemistry and phytochemistry platform.

Quoc-Tuan DO

Chemioinformatic Manager, Associate

Quoc-Tuan obtained his Master in Chemistry and his diploma of “ingénieur chimiste” at l’Ecole National Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse (France) in 1996. Then, he got his PhD in chemoinformatics at the Institut de Chimie Organique et Analytique (France). He started his career in the biophysics department of HMR at Strasbourg, in protein structure elucidation by NMR, where he familiarised with NMR & molecular modelling methodologies. In 1997, he joined Tripos as a support scientist to complete his expertise in molecular modelling and acquired unique expertise in cutting edge molecular modelling tools and a large overview of pharmaceutical research problems and needs. By 2001, he joined Greenpharma to develop internal knowledge database system and Selnergy, a Greenpharma proprietary tool. QT is also the contact person for international collaborations.

Philippe Bernard

General Manager, Founder of Greenpharma S.A.S.

Philippe obtained his phD in Biochemistry in 1998 at the University of Orleans (France). He has more than 15 years of experience in natural product studies. Prior to create Greenpharma, he worked for Aventis as a postdoc under the auspice of Professor Marcel HIBERT from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg (France), where he could complete its knowledge in pharmacology. His unique experiences in the field of biochemistry, computational chemistry and plant pharmacology leaded to the creation of Greenpharma in December 2000. The reverse pharmacognosy strategy, one component of Greenpharma, results from his expertise in different complementary fields.

Benjamin FRANÇOIS

Medicinal Chemistry Manager
Benjamin FRANÇOIS obtained his Master’s degree and his engineering degree at the  « Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie of Rennes », France, in 2015 with a double specialty in Molecular Chemistry and Chemistry and Technology for the Living world. Then, he joined the « Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes » where he obtained his PhD in 2018 centered on the use of functionalized organoboranes for the synthesis of polycyclic scaffolds. In 2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the « Institut de Recherche en Chimie Organique Fine » of Rouen, France. His researches were focused on the development of new methodologies for the incorporation of fluorinated scaffolds. He has experience in original molecular scaffolds synthesis and in multi-step synthesis. He joined Greenpharma in 2020 where he develops organic and medecinal chemistry projects, notably involving pharmacomodulation of bioactive molecules.
